Surplus Share treaties are a proportional cover that provides reinsurance when an underlying policy’s amount of insurance exceeds the specified dollar amount (or line).

Quota Share

Quota Share treaties use a fixed percentage in sharing premium and losses. Because the retention and cession amounts are a fixed percentage, the actual dollar amount of each cession changes as the amount of insurance changes.
